Yummy
Just thought I would tell you that I am eating the Tater Tot Casserole that I posted the recipe on my other blog. It is so good. Not very pretty, but it is really good and I just thought you would want to know that I am eating it. You are welcome!
Excuse me?
I have always been kind of fascinated by photography. I love a camera, as long as I am behind it, and love to take pictures of all kinds of stuff. I really developed an interest for it when I started scrapbooking years ago. Needless to say though, this is my scrapbook these days. Anyway, Marty bought me a 35mm Canon Rebel G for my birthday when Kenzie was a baby, and I LOVED IT! I really started taking pictures then! Some weddings, proms, kids, sports, nature, you name it, I just loved it!
Then I decided I needed a digital camera. So I got another Canon, this time a point and shoot. I loved it too. It even took videos. But I really missed the sharpness of my Rebel. So, I bought myself a new camera! I am still learning it, cause I have only had it a week, but still. I am getting the hang of it. I went out to the ball field last night to watch a friends child play, and I "practiced" on him. Ummm, 142 pictures later, I went home. I had so much fun with my new camera!!
Here comes the Excuse me part....
One of my fellow church members wants me to take a picture of his clubhouse. I said sure, I would love to. He has someone who is going to make an oil painting from a picture, so obviously he needs a picture. I asked Mr. H when he would like me to do it, and he said, let me see when I can get the plane.
UMMMMM, Excuse me?
I had been to this club house, it is not in a location that I have to fly, I have driven my car there. Why do I need a plane? What?
So, I said, "A plane? I thought you wanted one of the club house on the pond behind your house?" He said, "Yes, I would like an aerial one."
UMmmmm, Excuse me?
For those of you that don't know me, I DONT FLY!!! Never have, and plan on keeping it that way.
The plan right now is, I will take the picture from land FIRST and IF it is not what he wants, then I will go up in a PLANE? As long as it doesnt go over water and stays in Darlington County, I guess I will be okay.
I need some prayers for real if I have to get in a plane. Really I do.

Poor Mackenzie
I noticed Sunday night that Kenzie had the pinkest cheeks. I thought she was just hot because she and Jordan played so hard outside all day. Then I noticed the rash on her arms. Uh Oh.. I thought, maybe she is allergic to the cedar tree at my grandparents house. Well, when she cooled off, the rash went away. So, it surprised me when the next morning it reappeared. Before the Dr's office opened, the rash disappeared again. So I sent her to school. At recess, she broke out again!! So I took her on to the Dr. Marty had already diagnosed her from information he found on the web. He was right, she had Fifths Disease. Which sounds a lot worse than it is. In fact, once the rash appears, she is not contagious anymore. So other than keep her out of the sun, there was nothing they could do for her. The rash is better, but I had to pick her up from school on Friday for a stomach ache. I took her back to the doctor because I felt like it was more than a stomach ache. She was really weepy and just cried at the drop of a hat. She had a slight fever when we got there, but after flu and strep tests, urinalysis and CBC, everything looked fine. I insisted they run more tests to find out why she has these stomach aches all the time. The doctor just seemed to think it was school phobia? She loves school, she is not scared of it. Anyway, he did order an upper GI on her. We got home and she slept until it was time to get Jordan. When I woke her up, she was burning up with fever. So I dont know what she has.... If the fever is not gone by Saturday, I am taking her back to the doctor. I just hope she hasn't picked up the flu during her many visits to the Dr. this week.
Sunday Fun!
We went out to my grandparents house on Sunday to celebrate my grandmother and my cousins birthdays. All 6 of the great grandchildren were there and they played so well together. It was a beautiful day and we enjoyed every minute of it. My sister made a delicious dessert Icebox Lemonade Pie. The recipe is over on my recipe blog. It was such a wonderful day! The batteries in my camera died before I got pictures of all the kids. YUCK

Miss HHS Pageant
Saturday night, Mackenzie and I went to the Miss HHS pageant. Our friend, Jaclyn was in the pageant and she did a great job. She won the award for her service project. This girl ran for 2 hours in the bitter cold one night a few weeks ago to raise money for the teachers at HHS. She ran 59 laps which was the equivilant to 15 miles!!! Now, I don;t know about all of you, but, I couldn't have run 1/4th of a lap in that weather. I was out at the track cheering her on, but it was so cold. She raised over $900.00 and gave each teacher at HHS a gift card to office depot! The teachers can use the gift cards to buy supplies for their classrooms!

Call me crazy....
Has this winter seemed incredibly long? Seriously, I am so ready for flip flops and beach sand in between my toes that I can almost smell the sunscreen. I am very tempted to go jump in a tanning bed just to feel the warmth of the "sun". I am ready for flowers to bloom and birds to sing, hot days at the pool and fun, fun, fun!!!
Moonshine Mountain 2009
We had the best time tubing this weekend. It was raining, and cold but it was still so much fun. The hotel was fantastic. There was so much at the hotel for the kids to do, they never got bored! Thank you so much Christy for telling us about this hotel!
We tubed for a couple of hours on Saturday and then had lunch, changed clothes and the kids and I headed home. This is the first time I have EVER driven that far without another adult in the car. I know I can do it, I just don't like to drive too far without someone in the car to help me with the kids. I was driving along I-26 with both kids in the car, asleep, and I had to go to the bathroom so bad. I seriously thought about pulling over and peeing in my cup from lunch. But I didn't because I knew if I stopped the kids would wake up.
We only stopped once, and that was in Camden after they both woke up and they needed to go to the bathroom. I don't know what I would have done if they slept all the way home.
It was so nice to get away for the night, and have a great time tubing but it was great to be home too. I dont know what I would do if our parents lived out of town and I had to drive with my kids by myself more often.
