A lot has actually been going on since January's snow... I have been so stinking busy, I honestly have had no time to devote to my blog. I have a minute now so I am going to speed through the past 6 months.
January brought snow, the flu for me, and more snow UGH... I am not a fan of snow. I like WARM TROPICAL WEATHER as in SUMMER AT THE BEACH! It also brought lots of extra dance practices in antipation of State Dance!
February we celebrated my moms 60th birthday, and the same weekend went to Myrtle Beach for State Dance Competition. Kenzie's Tap and Hip Hop groups did great! State is always a bundle of nerves for the dancers and parents. No one knows what to expect on the judging, and it is the first competition so the dancers are pretty nervous too.
March was pretty low key as far as I can remember. Kenzie went to ENCORE dance competition in Lexington, and her groups did well there too. They got Gold first place again!
April, consisted of the first annual Operation Rack Rescue 5k at Darlington raceway. I didnt run, I was hired to be the official photographer for this event. I was very honored to be a part of this event! Oh, I also was BUSY BUSY BUSY with dance photos!
May was CRAZY! Kenzie had Showstoppers on Mothers day weekend. We spent the weekend at the beach, she did FANTASTIC!! Got a Double Platinum on Tap and Platinum for Hip Hop.. I was so proud! The weekend was fabulous. Just doing nothing but laying on the beach was wonderful! Jordan had his band concert, WOW is all I can say. The entire band had improved so much from where they were in December. Then it was recital time, end of school and finally SUMMER!!!
June flew by. We took our vacation earlier than usual and stayed longer! We spent 2 weeks at Ocean Lakes and we are ready to take another vacation now! Jordan turned 13 on Fathers day. He started taking guitar lessons in the spring, and we had bought him an acoustic guitar then. For his birthday he got a Les Paul electric guitar! He was stunned! He also got lots of other goodies from friends and family!
That brings us to July!!! So far in July, we have seen Cars 2 and Mackenzie and I went to see Mr Poppers penguins on the 4th while Jordan was fishing! Both movies were wonderful! We now have a list of more movies to see this summer. We have been swimming, cleaning, and shopping for school clothes (Mackenzie) and bookbags already! I think one child may be ready to go back to school. She misses her friends. Jordan has been conditioning with the football team, and is growing up so fast! Since Christmas, he has grown about 5 inches and is now taller than I am! I know that is not saying much but still.
I hope I can do a better job with this blog. I am going to make it more of a priority as well as a few other things. I will be honest, facebook has almost taken over my life. I guess that happens when you do not work outside of the home (except for one day a month).
