R.A.C.E

The ExitsBilly Jack on the mic
Kenzie in the musical Making Room sponsored by Habitat for Humanity

Our church participated in R.A.C.E this weekend. It was Reaching Another in Christ Everyday. The entire District of United Methodist Churches was invited to attend..The last I heard almost 1000 people were there. Kenzie performed twice, once in a musical, and the other in a litergical dance. Jordan helped me transport elderly and handicapped people to the event via golfcart.. We had a blast but were worn out afterward. One of the kids in our church has a band called The Exits.. They were great.. Billy Jack really knew how to work the crowd!!

High Cotton

One of the cotton fields down the street is the most beautiful cotton field out here. I stopped on the way home yesterday to take a picture of Kenzie in the field.. (Jordan had on a red shirt and it had writing on it so I thought it wouldnt show up as good) I want to get one of both kids before they cut the cotton, but I had to get this one while I had the chance.

The look of Thirst

Jordan had a scrimmage game on Saturday morning. He actually had pictures at 8:30 and it was cold. I, of course, was not prepared for cooler temperatures, and had on flip flops and shorts. Jordan and Mackenzie kept saying they were cold while waiting on pictures. I assurred them that it would warm up and they would be hot by the time the game started. I was right. It warmed up nicely and Jordan was hot and thirsty. They had a great game against a team from out of town. We won the game and got the much needed practice.

Sweet Dreams

After a busy weekend of High School Football, Jordan's scrimmage, College football Saturday afternoon, and Church, then more football. My kids had enough. They were tired of watching football and they were just exhausted. They decided to watch a movie in Kenzie's room. This is how I found them. They can be so sweet from one minute to the next. Somedays they fight from the minute they get up until they get ready for bed. But before bedtime is the best time at our house. Everyone always hugs and kisses goodnight, and tells everyone they love them. This means a lot to me especially after a day of, "Kenzie, quit pinching me!" or "Jordan is looking at me"

Silly Sunday's

Kenzie decided she was going to church in her high heels and sunglasses last Sunday. She is such a Girly Girl. Who would have thought that I would have such a prissy girl. I was more of the jeans and t-shirt kind of girl, hated dresses and accessories. Kenzie LOVES them. She did get the love of shoes from me though! By the way, I did NOT buy the shoes that she wore with this outfit. I think Grandma (my mom) did. Thanks Grandma, the pink high heel sandals are just what she needed!

Jordan pays her prissiness any attention. He loves her so much, even though she drives him crazy. He really takes the Big Brother roll seriously. He sounds more like her Daddy sometimes than her brother. Always quick to chime in with me! He backs me up at least once a day. Sometimes, that is a good thing. Other times, not so good. But at least they do love each other and act like it most of the time.

Football Fridays

Our Favorite Fox!

We love football around our house.. Jordan plays football for the local Rec Dept. and of course, Kenzie is his cheerleader!! This past Friday we went out to watch the High School team play. Our friend, and favorite Fox, is # 56 Mikey Lynch. We absolutely adore this kid. His brother, Matt, is our QB on the rec team and is friends with Jordan. His parents are friends of ours and this kid is one of the nicest teenagers I know. Kenzie loves him and calls him her boyfriend. They play and fight everytime she sees him, and he puts up with her. What an awesome job his parents have done raising him. These pictures are from Friday nights game!

Beauty and the Beach

We took a trip to the beach for one last weekend before fall. The weather was typical August heat with little breeze. We were out on the beach by 9am and there was very little waves. The ocean was calm and the air was very humid. Our next trip is in a couple of weeks! We are going to the great state of GEORGIA for a visit with The Franklin side of the family. Hopefully the weather will be a little better in the mountains of NW Georgia. We will see!!
